Power And Leadership

Talking about the power and the leadership.

As we all know, there are many sorts of power that people have, and they present themselves in many different ways, by the way. For example, a commander can use his/her power to force soldiers to complete their missions; a singer can use his/her power to attract people, make them insane by singing their songs; a president can use his power to make his/her country becomes better. That’s what I mean by the power of a person can be showed by many sorts of ways. However, I’ve told about the power goes right, what would happen if the power of a person goes wrong.

Normally, the power of a person cannot cause too much influence, but things would be changed if a person gets too much power. Once those people we have lots of power have been bad, horrible things would come out.

Next is the leadership. Of course, to become a leader, you have to have power. However, it won’t make you a good leader if you only have the power. In order to become a good leader, you need to have more things such as charisma, wisdom, sympathy, self-discipline and so on. Among them, the most important thing that makes you a good leader is that you need to and have to pay much attention on controlling the power you have and use it appropriately.

In conclusion, in my point of view, although the power is an important thing to make you become a good leader, but it can also make you a bad leader if you don’t have abilities to control you power and use it in a good way.

Some insightful observations about the connections between power and leadership, Bruce. I’m particularly interested in your view that to be a leader you must have some sort of power but that power alone is not enough. I think this is important and we have seen too many times in history when a person has power but uses it inappropriately.
