The Importance of Being Earnest: A story about a name

We have started reading the drama The Importance of Being Earnest, and I have been attracted to this book immediately. The characters in Oscar Wilde’s drama have such a good sense of humour. This book makes extensive use of satire and irony to make its audience enjoy reading it. The personalities of the characters in this book are astonishing, too. Jack is a gentle man who has a special story, he is an orphan, and he was found and fostered by his stepfather. This story is about he chasing a woman he meets. Algernon is a notable character as well. He always be entangled with the trivial details. One thing that makes he feel interested about is the story of jack’s another identity——Earnest. The gentlewoman Gwendolen is the one Jack loves. She appreciates Jack and she accepts Jack’s proposal. However, the reason she is attracted to Jack is because his name but not his personalities. In my opinion, I think Gwendolen is a foolish woman who doesn’t know how to love.

We are also required to make a presentation to illustrate the story in the first act. I think the best way for me to present my idea is to make a diorama. Firstly, I think my audiences will be interested if they see the story jumps out from the book. This might help them have better understanding on the first act. For now, I am reread the book to gather as much information as I can in order to shape my characters in the diorama. Such as their personality, their actions, and their saying, etc. imgres
