Research question: why do people explore new technology

Till now, Jan and I had decided to make a giant poster (above is design) to present our project. As you can see we are going to argue our research question in two ways.

First of all, we all know that everything has two faces, one is bad and the other one not seems really good or even horrible in some situations. For example, relate to our research question, when we get sick we always need medicine to make you feel better. But if people can’t create new medicines that best heal people, people will feel worse or people can even die because they don’t have medicine to cure their body. That’s why we need scientists to produce and develop medicine for us. On this side, people explore the technology on the land of biology. This is the positive side of why people explore new technology (Jan). Connecting to the book Frankenstein, Frankenstein uses his half-life to explore the secret of life and wants to create a monster that constructed by human body since his mother’s death. And then, he makes it! Imagining how this technology will save people from death, but what will happen? Let’s see.

Now, the negative side and this is what I will do in our project. We have a point that people explore new technology to produce weapons to wipe out their army. Unfortunately, as the time every country grasp this technology, things will get worse. Things like nuclear weapon or toxic weapon came out. Countries keep exploring the technology like this to aggress other countries or protect themselves. However, at that time, the only thing that they gain is that million lives disappear from the world forever. Fortunately, this only happened in world war.

In short, we can’t say that exploring new stuff is wrong. People explore new technology try to do the things that make the world better while some people explore technology to satisfy them. All those are the reasons why they keep exploring new things. But we need to make sure that we use them in a good way.

Above is our main idea of our poster. Click this website to read Jan’s blog and get more details.

    Hi Bruce
Remember that you need to preview your blog post before publishing so that you are sure it looks the way you intend it to. The links you have included do not work properly.

You have given a good summary of what your presentation is going to be about. What I would like to see in your reflections, though, is the process you go through and how you are learning what you are learning. Showing any problems you have whilst approaching this project and what you did to solve it is a good way of showing the learning process.

You now need one more reflection which includes your own assessment of your performance: what you did well and what you can do to improve next time. Make sure that the photograph of the poster is properly embedded in the post – if you are not sure how to do this, I can help you.

    Mrs T
